BEESWAX CANDLES
BEESWAX CANDLES
We sourse our beeswax from our friend and local beekeeper, Andrew, who keeps his happy bees around the Eltham / Warrandyte area.
Usually, on a candle making day, we start to heat the beeswax before we make our coffee in the morning. By lunchtime, the studio is filled with a delicious buttery-honey smell. The bees gather round to watch. After many hours, when the beeswax is fully melted, we carefully dip each hemp wick into the wax miltible times, building up a thick coating, creating our hand-dipped candles. This method, although lengthy, creates a beautiful textured detail.
Each candle is unique.
